Sandee Cohen

Sandee Cohen started her career as an advertising copywriter and creative supervisor for ad agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather and Grey Advertising. In 1989 she left advertising to teach art directors and designers how to use “the machine” as Macintosh computers were known. She became one of the premiere trainers for QuarkXPress, Illustrator, and Photoshop. In 1999 she was approached by Adobe Systems to beta test their new page layout program called K-2 which eventually became InDesign. From that beta testing she wrote the first Visual Quickstart Guide on InDesign. Since then, she has written books on every version of InDesign.

In her career teaching computer graphics, she has taught for numerous private computer graphics schools as well as New York University, Parson’s School of Design, New School University, and Peter Cooper. She has also been hired directly to teach as many publishing houses and design studios in New York City as well as all over the United States. She is the senior contributing editor to InDesign Magazine. She has also contributed to InDesign Secrets and CreativePro.com. She and Diane Burns have written Digital Publishing with InDesign CC.
